Yudhvir performs Hawan to ward-off COVID-19

JAMMU: Yudhvir Sethi, Vice President BJP J&K unit & incharge Seva hi sangthan on Saturday performed Hawan Yagya here on Saturday amid recitation of Gayatri Mantra to ward-off the COVID-19 pandemic. The senior BJP leader said that people in India used to perform Hawan since the ancient times to purify the atmosphere. Sethi said that he has undaunted faith that the Havan will eliminate the dreaded coronavirus from the vicinity. He asked the people to turn to the Vedic lifestyle to get rid of modern day world diseases which came into existence due to unprincipled ways of living. He said that the benefits of Hawan Samagri containing mixture of wood, odoriferous and medicinal herbs had extensively been written in the epics of Hindu religion and even science has endorsed in many cases that by performing Havan many air-borne bacteria and other harmful germs are neutralized and the environment becomes pollution free. He said, “On the basis of all this, one can say that Hawan is a scientific method to eliminate the disease-causing micro-organisms in the environment and by performing this one can even eradicate coronavirus”.
“According to Vedas-the ancient knowledge books of India, saints used to perform Hawan Yagyas to purify the environment by sublimating the Hawan Samagri in fire,” he said and added that people should take a cue from rich heritage of the country and should take refuge under the realms of Vedas to overcome diseases like COVID-19. He categorically made it clear that guidelines issued by the government to contain the coronavirus should be followed strictly as there is no alternate to them.
“However, turning to our traditions in combating such airborne diseases also holds much relevance and therefore people should not feel shy to perform such Hawans and Yagyas at their respective places as these are helpful in many ways to counter the pandemic”, he maintained. Corporator Anil Masoom, Ajit Yogi, Parveen Kerni, Pawan Sharma, Roshan Lal Sharma and Satish Kumar were also present. The Hawan was performed by strictly following all the SOPs and guidelines related to COVID-19.
