POONCH: Police on Saturday nabbed a youth for cheating public by replacing their ATM cards with fake ones. As per details, a team from Police Station Poonch led by SI Abdul Majeed Shaheen under supervision of SHO Police Station Poonch Insp Sureshwar Dev Singh apprehended a person namely Shabir Ahmed, son of Zakir Hussain, resident of Kanuyian, who used to lure old-age/ innocent persons for drawing money from ATMs and replace their cards with fake/ unused ATM cards. Police has also recovered stolen ATM cards and an amount of Rs 20,200 from his possession. A case vide FIR No 204/2020 under Sections 420, 380 of IPC was registered at Police Station Poonch against the accused.
