UDHAMPUR: Police on Tuesday arrested a youth who made a fake account on social media (Instagram) under a girl’s name.
As per details, based on a complaint lodged by a girl (name withheld) stating that one miscreant has created a fake Instagram account using her name without her consent and regularly harassing her. In this regard, FIR No. 69/2022 under section 66(c) was registered at Police Station Ramnagar and investigation started.
A special team led by Incharge Police Post Ghordi PSI Rythm Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Ramnagar Dr Bhishm Dubey was constituted and with the help of technical surveillance, police traced out details of the owner of fake Instagram account and identified him.
The accused, identified as Rohit Sharma, son of Charan Das, resident of Prowa Jagir, Jaganoo who arrested by the police team.
