AKHNOOR: Yogesh’s six-wicket haul helped Sunderbani U-17 Cricket Club to defeat Singh U-17 Cricket Club Akhnoor by eight runs in the Friendship Cup organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor under the overall supervision S. S Langeh at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here on Friday.Earlier batting first after winning the toss, Sunderbani Club scored 195 rin in 40 overs. Kartik with (38), Piyush (38), Shivam (20) and Shubham (16) runs were the main scorers.For Singh Club, Abhinandan and Karan Gupta grabbed three wickets each while Neeraj Gupta got two and Danish took one wicket.In reply, Singh Club failed to chase the target and managed to score 187 for the loss of ten wickets in 33 overs. Danish was the top scorer with 63 while Karan Gupta and Arun contributed 35 and 15 runs.For Sunderbani, Yogesh with his tight line and length scalped six important wickets while Shivam, Harshit, Piyush and Aman took one each.For his match winning performance, Yogesh was declared as Man of the Match and Danish adjudged best batsman.Today’s match was officiated by Dayal Singh and Vikas Bali as Umpires while Rohit and Arjun as scorers:-Rakesh Malhotra, Councilor Ward No 6 Akhnoor, was the Chief Guest and Deepak Mani was Guest of Honour on the occasion who distributed prizes among the players and appreciated the Organizing Committee.Others presents were Vinod Kumar, Lovely, Ravi Rajan, Sanjeev Sharma, Sandeep Singh (Coach), Rajinder Sharma (Coach), Rajan (Manager), Fangra (Manager), Praveen Kumar, Sonu Malhotra (Manager), Deepak Sharma, Suresh Gupta, Chandan Sharma, Sunil Govil, Pankaj Kumar, Deepak Mangotra and Sunny Mahi.
