JAMMU: Wrestling Association of J&K (WAJK) on Thursday named seven-member team to represent J&K in the upcoming Under-17 Cadet Boys Freestyle, Graeco Roman Style and Girls National Wrestling Championship, scheduled to be held at Nandi Nagar Gonda in Uttar Pradesh from April 16 to April 18.
The team was selected after the screening conducted by the screening committee of the J&K Sports Council (JKSC), headed by Divisional Sports Officer Jammu, Ashok Singh in presence of Jai Bharat, General Secretary of the WAJK and other officials.
Ravinder Singh and Vireshwar Bhardwaj have been named coaches of the team. The Team: Boys: Surya Udhay Partap Singh, Rohit Kumar, Sumit Kumar, Saqib Sader Malik, Biniya Been, Abhishek Singh. Girls: Mishti Sharma.
Meanwhile, as per a handout issued by the WAJK, Secretary JKSC, Nuzhat Gul wished the selected team success. She also said that soon wrestling hall, with all latest equipments and infrastructure of national standard, shall be made available to the budding wrestlers.
