World Tuberculosis Day celebrated at Bee Enn College of Nursing



JAMMU: Bee Enn College of Nursing and Bee Enn Nursing Institute in collaboration with District Tuberculosis Centre, Jammu on Tuesday observed World Tuberculosis Day.
The theme of World Tuberculosis day 2021 was ” The Clock is ticking” which conveys the sense that the world is running out of time to act on the commitments to end tuberculosis.
This is especially critical in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic which has put end TB eradication efforts on the back seat.
It is important to ensure equitable access to prevention and care in line with WHO’s drive towards achieving Universal Health Coverage.
Dr. Meenakshi Kotwal, District Tuberculosis Officer, Jammu welcomed the Chief Guest, Bharat Bhushan, District Development Council Chairman, Ramesh Chander, Additional District Development Commissioner, Dr J.P Singh, Chief Medical Officer, Jammu and other dignitaries. The final year B.Sc Nursing students presented tuberculosis awareness skit, First Year M.Sc Nursing students & B.Sc Nursing students presented song on tuberculosis prevention. Cultural programmes were also showed by GNM and Post Basic B.Sc Nursing students. Rangoli and Poster making competitions were also held.
The mementos and appreciation certificates were distributed by District Tuberculosis Centre, Jammu. The vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Shakuntla Sharma, Principal of the College.
