KATHUA: Today work remain suspended in the District & Sessions Court Kathua including all other Civil & Criminal subordinate Courts including Revenue Courts, Labour Courts etc. in protest against the misbehavior by a Police Personnel SI Riaz Ahmed with the senior Bar member Advocate Dilawar Singh near his home at Kalibari at the Police Naka.A press conference was also organized under the leadership of its President Advocate Ajat Shatru Sharma in order to condemn the high handedness, egoistic & ‘Singham’ like attitude of the said police person.While addressing the media persons, Ajat Shatru Sharma said that we appealed to the SSP Kathua R. C. Kotwal to personally intervene in the matter and take strong note of it. He further said that SSP Kathua must ensure that such type of police personnel with cynical attitude towards Public and especially Advocates must not be given Naka duties within Kathua City.The number of required Police Nakas must be regulated in a manner that these Nakas do not become a source of unnecessary harassment for the general public within the Kathua city which is just smaller urban area and not a big city like Jammu. The more stress must be laid on Traffic Rules awareness rather than revenue collection from the members of the public at these types of Police Nakas within the Kathua City. He also said that Police must maintain good Police-Public Relations in order to get cooperation from the general public and must show their sensitivity towards law abiding citizens.Those who were present in the press conference include Vice President Adv.
