Woman among two drug peddlers nabbed with contraband


JAMMU/SRINAGAR: Continuing its efforts to eradicate menace of drugs from the society, Police on Sunday arrested two drug peddlers, including a woman, and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
As per details, during a Naka laid by SHO Police Station Bahu Fort, Insp Deepak Pathania assisted by In-Charge Police Post Narwal SI Achal Rana, near Railway bridge Jammu, team intercepted a woman who was trying to hide herself when signaled to stop for checking. On search, 4 Kg and 600 gm Ganja was recovered from her possession. The accused, identified as Ruby, wife of Rohin, resident of Rajeev Nagar, Narwal was arrested and a case under relevant sections was registered against her at Police Station Bahu Fort.
Meanwhile, a party from Police Station Chrar-e-Sharief at a checkpoint established at Zinpanchal Crossing intercepted a person identified as Mysir Ahmed Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan Mir, resident of Dalwan, Pakherpora. On checking, 210 grams Charas was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remained under custody. Accordingly, a case vide FIR number 37/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Chrar-e-Sharief and investigation was initiated.
