REASI: In a public outreach programme, Shailender Singh after joining as SSP Reasi, held a public interaction at District Police Lines Reasi. Prominent citizens of all ages from all walks of life in Reasi including Chairpersons of Block Development Councils, Chairman Municipal Committee Reasi, Councillors, Sarpanchs and Panchs participated and were welcomed by the District Police Chief.
Citizens highlighted various issues like growing menace of drugs abuse in the society especially among the youth, problems related to-&-scarcity of sand mining affecting the process of development as well as hurdles faced by individuals for their private constructions. Senior Citizens also highlighted the encroachment made on footpaths causing choking of main bazaar super added by heavy traffic of bikers and four wheelers.
‘Mother and Child Hospital’ has been completed, posts of Doctors and staff stands sanctioned. All the august gathering of Reasi was insisting for commissioning of this hospital to add more health services in the district. Representative of Kanjali insisted for link road connecting the village to Reasi and also for approval of 15 lakhs sports project for the village. Matter of public concern ranging to different departments came into discussion including municipal taxes. It should not be dis-proportionally increase by 200 to 300 percent was the consensual appeal.
SSP Reasi Singh gave a patient hearing to all the speakers and assured that police is committed to public service and contribute its part in justice delivery system. Police team of Reasi will leave no stone unturned to uphold the rule of law for delivering justice.
Drug peddlers will be dealt with iron hand of law. No activity in the district will be allowed that hurts the religious sentiments of public. Procedures of public service in police will be rationalized, wherever possible, like verifications without compromising the police duty. Crime against women will be dealt as per procedure laid in law. In the present changed time of high technology SSP Reasi advised the shopkeepers to install CCTV Cameras on public participation basis till the Govt. installs CCTV Network in the city. SSP also highlighted new emerging threats of cyber crimes and threw light on counter measures. In the end SSP Reasi Shailender Singh shared his mobile and office contact numbers with this note that “Doors of SSP Reasi and his team are open 24*7 for all”.
