Will continue struggle till Jats get OBC status in J&K: AIJMS

CHENANI: The local unit of All India Jat Maha Sabha (AIJMS) on Monday vowed to continue to struggle till the time the government grants OBC status to the Jat community on the pattern of other states.
Speaking during the meeting of Sabha, Ch Nanak Chand, Chairman AIJMS Chenani said that nothing less than OBC status is acceptable to the Jat Community in the UT. He said that every single Jat in the Union Territory is standing shoulder to shoulder with Ch Manmohan Singh, President AIJMS J&K in the fight for justice to the community. He said that the way Ch Manmohan Singh is steering the struggle, it is a matter of days that the community will get which it deserves on merit because there are a number of states and UTs which had already granted the status of OBC to Jats. He said that the Jat community is one on the issue and no power can now stop it from getting the legitimate right. He said that the need of the hour is to strengthen the arms of Ch Manmohan Singh because his contribution towards the community is extraordinary and it is likely that the demand of OBC status will get through under his leadership sooner than later.
It is pertinent to mention that the aforesaid meeting was convened on the directions of Ch Manmohan in Tehsil Chenani.
The meeting concluded that all the members of Jat community from different Tehsils are of the opinion that they will extend support only to that political party which will promise the community of granting the OBC status. It was appreciated in the meeting that hard work of AIJMS team has started paying off.
Ch Babu Ram President AIJMS, Choudhary, Madan Vice President AIJMS, Ch Vinod Vice President ; Ch Hari Ram, Ch Balbir Raj, Ch Bhagwan Singh, Karnail Singh Choudhary, Suram Chand Choudhary, Ranjeet Choudhary, Manohar Choudhary, Rahul Choudhary and Sahil Choudhary also spoke during the meeting.
