KATHUA: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kathua under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir Universaity of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu organized Exhibition cum Kisan Goshti in the adopted village Said of Panchayat Garah under National Innovations in Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) Project.Prof. J.P. Sharma, Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu inaugurated the exhibition as Chief Guest in the presence of Om Prakash. , Deputy Commissioner Kathua,Dr. Rajbir Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone-I, Ludhiana and Bhadaur Ram, State Marketing Manager, IFFCO.Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Sharma emphasized on adoption of innovative climate resilienttechnologies for sustainable farm incomes. He deliberated upon the different components of Atmanirbhar Bharat and discussed the scope for farmers to avail the benefits of various schemes. Om Prakash DC Kathua emphasized upon the role of Krishi Vigyan Kendra in upliftment of socio-economic conditions of farmers. He suggested greater coordination between KVK and line departments to attain greater benefits in a shorter period of time. He extended full support of district administration for implemented welfare programmes in collaboration with KVK Kathua.Dr. Rajbir Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI appreciated the efforts of KVK Kathua in implementing the NICRA project. He discussed the mandates of the project and expressed satisfaction about the fact that KVK has been implemented the project in a right spirit.Dr. Vishal Mahajan Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Kathua welcomed the dignitaries and participants and gave brief note on the activities carried out in the adopted villages under NICRA project.Ashwani Sharma, Sarpanch gave a brief outline of benefits availed by farmers out of the NICRA project. Rajkarni Devi, progressive farm women elucidated her success story under the project supported by KVK KathuaMore than 400 farmers & farm women participated in the programme including members of Village Climate Risk Management Committee.Dr. Anamika Jamwal carried out the proceedings of the programme, whereas Dr. Vijay K Sharma presented formal vote of thanks. Among others were present Dr. Berjesh Ajarawat, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Dr. Ashu Sharma, Vijay Singh, Bharat Bhushan, Sahil Sharma and Pankaj Mehra.
