POONCH: Vanshika emerged women’s single’s champion after she defeated Shahnaz in straight sets of 11-09, 11-08 in the ongoing 30th District Poonch Table Tennis Championship under the banner of District Table Tennis Association at Indoor Hall, Sports Stadium, here on Friday. The Junior boys title went to Ridhik, who trounced Pranav in straight but close sets of 11-09, 11-08.Meanwhile, in men’s title clash, slated for tomorrow, Pratham shall take on Faizal. Earlier, in the semifinals, Pratham defeated Ridhik 11-09, 11-08 while Faizal outplayed Anuj 11-08, 11-09.The Results: Men’s doubles: Faizal and Bandey beat Narinder and Anuj 11-09,11-07; Gagan and Gurjot beat Ridhik and Pratham 11-03, 11-08; Marshal and Propkar beat Salil and Sandeep 11-09,11-09, 09-11,08-11, 11-08; Ridhik and Pratham beat Bandey and Faizal 11-09,11-06,08-11,09-11,11-09.
