VAJK felicitates J&K UT Junior Boys Volleyball team

JAMMU: The office bearers of Volleyball Association of J&K (VAJK) on Monday felicitated J&K UT junior boys volleyball team for creating historic victory by winning bronze medal for the first time in the recently concluded 48th Junior National Volleyball Championship (Boys and Girls) held at MA Stadium Jammu from December 14 to 19, 2022.

In a simple and impressive felicitation function held at hotel Lemon Tree Jammu, Raj Daluja Patron-in-Chief, Sidharth Daluja President and all others office bearers of VAJK honoured the team/coaches and manager by giving cash prize, shawls and bags.
Expressing happiness on behalf of VAJK, Raj Daluja stressed upon the players/coaches to scale new heights and glorify the name of JK UT at national and international levels.
He also appreciated the role played by special organizing committee of the championship headed by Mukesh Singh, ADGP Jammu Zone (Chairman), Ramesh Kumar Divisional commissioner Jammu (Co-Chairman), Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Excise Commissioner J&K UT, Nuzhat Gul Secretary J&K Sports Council and other members for their cooperation and support for hosting the week-long National Championship efficiently at Jammu.
He assured the players all out efforts would be made by the association to improve the standard of the volleyball game in J&K with their suggestions.
Giving the brief of the VAJK, Vijay Kumar Magotra General Secretary disclosed that the 48th year has been the luckiest year of the Volleyball Association of J&K in which our Junior Boys team created history by securing 3rd position defeating last year champion Tamil Nadu for the first time.
The team had all praise for President Sidharth Daluja who also distributed cash prizes to J&K team for qualifying in the pool in the championship earlier.
The office bearers H.S Gill, M.L Toofan, Kuldip Magotra, R.C Sharma, Mohd Tariq, Subash Shastri, Manmeet Singh Amn, Manpreet Kour, Balwinder Singh, Suresh Singh, Akbar Ali and Gurdev Singh also interacted with players and gave their valuable suggestions for improvement of volleyball.
Naresh Kumar coach and Mannat Choudhary captain of the team also updated the dignitaries with their experience/scope for further improvement of volleyball game.
The J&K players and officials felicitated in the event include Mannat Choudhary (captain of the J&K team), Ayiaz Ahmed Madni (Poonch), Shadab Shameen (Anantnag), Musharf Khan (Poonch), Sumit Singh (Kathua), Haroon Rashid (Pulwama), Arun Sharma (Jammu), Abinash Singh (Jammu), Ayoush Sharma (Rajouri), Mohd Hafeez (Poonch), Aarif Hassan Bhat (Kupwara), Danish Nazir Bhat (Baramulla), Naresh Kumar (Coach), Ramiz Tariq (Assistant Coach) and Akbar Ali (Manager).
