Udhampur boxers excel in J&K UT c’ship

UDHAMPUR: For the first time, boxing team of district Udhampur secured a record 16 medals in the just concluded J&K UT Boxing Championship which held under the banner of J&K Amateur Boxing Association at J&K Police Boxing Ring, Gulshan Ground, here.
The medal tally of Udhampur included five gold, four silver and seven bronze.
In fact, the young boxers from the district were trained and guided by a national level boxer and qualified coach, Vishwajeet Singh, who is presently posted at KV Chenani as PET.
He was ably assisted by Rajnish Sharma, who train young boxers at Subash Stadium, Udhampur on volunteer basis.
The Medal Winners: Boys Sub-Junior: 33-35 kg: Pranab Kumar (gold). 46-49 kg Arun Singh (Silver), Deepak Katoch (bronze). Boys Junior: 52-54 kg: Ankit Kesar (silver), 54-57 kg: Rohit Kumar (bronze). Youth Men: 46-48 kg: Gagandeep Singh (silver), 56-60 kg: Raman Anthal (bronze), 66-70 kg: Narinder Bali (gold). Men Senior: 49-52 kg: Aman Sharma (bronze), 60-63: Anzar Anyat (bronze), 75-81 kg: Satveer Singh Bali (bronze). Girls Sub Junior: 57-60 kg: Simaran Bali (gold). Girls Junior: 44-46 kg: Shivanika (silver), Siya Manhas (bronze), 46-48 kg: Vanshika Choudhary (gold). Women Senior: Avintika Bali (gold).
