Udhampur Boxers bag record 20 medals in J&K UT C’ship



UDHAMPUR: Despite lack of infrastructure, boxers from district Udhampur clinched record 20 medals, including nine gold in the just concluded J&K UT Boxing Championship held under the banner of J&K Amateur Boxing Association at Boxing Arena, MA Stadium, Jammu.
Around 150 boxers from different districts of Srinagar, Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Poonch, Baramulla and departmental side of J&K Police took part in this three-day competition.
Giving tough contest to their opponents, Udhampur boxers performed well and returned with highest ever tally of 20 medals.
MEDAL WINNERS: Sub-Junior: Boys: Parnav Chaudhary (gold), Veerazali (bronze), Amit Chaudhary (silver), Pushivinder Singh (silver). Girls: Tanisha Katoch (gold). Junior Men: Arun singh (silver), Aaqib Ali (silver), Atvaz Ali (silver). Junior Women: Siya Manhas (silver), Vanshika Chaudhary (gold), Simran Bali (gold). Youth Men: Gagandeep Singh (bronze), Nakul Manhas (silver), Vishal Sharma (silver). Women: Senior: Shraya Sharma (gold), Avantika Bali (gold), Nirmala Devi (bronze). Elite Men: Aman Sharma (gold), Akashdeep Singh (bronze) and Muninder Singh (silver).
