Two mysterious murder cases solved, 4 accused arrested

SRINAGAR: Bandipora police solved two mysterious murder cases by arresting four accused persons involved in commission of crime.
As per details, on 21 Dec 2020, Police Post Ajas received a written complaint from a person namely Abdul Rehman Matahanji, son of Abdul Gaffar Matahanji, resident of Laharwalpora Bandipora wherein he stated that his daughter namely Afrooza Bano, who was married to Shabir Ahmad Pahloo, son of Nazir Ahmad Pahloo, resident of S K Payeen, Bandipora has been killed by her husband. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 177/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Sumbal and investigation was taken up. Subsequently, a special team from Police Post Ajas recovered dead body of deceased woman. After completing all medico legal formalities, the body was handed-over to legal heirs for last rites.
During course of investigation, officers came to know that husband of deceased, identified as Shabir Ahmad Pahloo, is involved in the crime. After strenuous efforts and swift action of police, the accused person was arrested.
During questioning, the accused admitted that during intervening night of December 20-21, the duo got engaged in a brawl over Mehar and gold ornaments, after which he strangulated his wife to death. He was arrested and shifted to Police Station, where he remained under custody. Further investigation in the case is going on.
While in another case, on Dec 1, 2020, Police Post Ajas received a written complaint from Hilal Ahmad Najar, resident of Chewdara stating that his minor son namely Burhan is missing from his home. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Beerwah and investigation was taken up. During course of investigation, the body of missing boy was recovered from a canal out-side village Chewdara on December 2, 2020.
During further investigation and sustained efforts, an accused (name withheld), who is cousin of victim, was arrested. During sustained questioning Police learnt about involvement of other two suspects. All three accused were arrested in instant case and are currently under police custody. The case is under investigation and will be charge-sheeted within shortest possible time.
