Trucker, associate nabbed with 101 Kg poppy straw



RAMBAN: Police on Monday nabbed a trucker and his associate and recovered 101 Kg poppy straw from their possession.
As per details, during routine checking at Nashri Naka, a party from Police Station Batote led by SHO Insp Ranjeet Singh Rao intercepted a truck (HP12C 9025) for checking, which was on its way from Srinagar towards Pathankot Punjab. During checking, 101 Kg poppy straw (Bhukki) was recovered from the vehicle. The accused, identified as Gulzar Mohd (Driver), son of Rehmat Ali, resident of Rampura Phul Tehsil Bathinda (Punjab) and Noor Mohd (Cleaner), son of Fateh Mohd, resident of village Tikri, PO Sahi Tehsil Chamba Himachal Pradesh, were arrested and a case vide FIR No 24/2021 under Sections 8, 15 & 29 of NDPS Act was registered against them at Police Station Batote.
