‘Tree Woman of Pir Panjal’ honoured by International Foundation for Environment & Ecology



POONCH: In a proud moment for Poonch, Prof Dr. Rani Mughal has been honoured with the Bio-Diversity Conservation Award 2021, by International Foundation for Environment and Ecology, Kolkata, India, being the only person from Pir Panjal Region to have been given this award.
Presented as the “Tree Woman of Pir Panjal” in her last TV interview with Times Now she is widely acknowledged as a biodiversity warrior in the region. Being the illustrious daughter of the great environmentalist and the erstwhile DFO of Poonch Mohammad Bashir Mughal who is known for his love for the environment and biodiversity she has been remarkably proactive in the field of biodiversity of this region and has demonstrated the same love and passion for the environment as the late Mughal.
Presently she is collaborating with the Krishna Ghati Brigade of the Army who has nominated her as an advisor for their mega plantation drive of planting 1 lakh trees.
