JAMMU: A delegation of Transport Nagar Association (TNA) Narwal, led by its Chairman, Rahul Sahai called on the Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Avny Lavasa and VC JDA Jammu, Pankaj Magotra during separate meetings in Jammu on Wednesday. The delegation sensitized both the officers about problems faced by people in Transport Nagar and submitted memorandum to both demanding overall development of Transport Nagar.“The aforesaid area is neglected from last 20 years and from last 3 years, we have taken up the issue with Lt Governor, Commissioner Secretary Housing, Commissioner Secretary I&C (Logistics Incharge) that ownership of the area is very important, but only passing of ball from JDA to JMC and vice versa was witnessed, as nothing was done to resolve the issues,” said Sahai, adding that he is happy that at last the area is going to see the light of day in terms of development.While interacting with JMC Commissioner, Sahai highlighted various issues of Transport Nagar including sanitation, active drainage, lifting old garbage, construction of new Nallahs, cleaning & repair of existing Nallahs, encroachments concerns, making of Sulabh Souchalays, lighting and implementation of new building by-laws etc.Rahul Sahai sensitized Pankaj Magotra VC JDA about those issues of Transport Nagar, which pertain to JDA including roads blacktopping, Lighting (High Mast lights), repair of dividers, maintenance and plantation, conversion of lease hold to free-hold rights, lease deed issues, building by-laws at par with JMC, double fee issues, transfer policy, JDA departmental processing issues, parking concerns etc.Both the officers gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that all necessary measures will be taken to resolve the highlighted issues at the earliest for the overall development of Transport Nagar.Others who were also present during the meetings included Dr Sanjogita Soodan Health Officer JMC, Dheeraj Jandial Chief Accounts Officer JMC, Harvinder Singh CTO JMC, Ashwani Pandoh, Mohd Ashraf President Yard-7, Ashwani Gupta, Girish and Sunil Mantoo.
