Three of family killed in road mishap

Kishtwar: In a tragic road accident, three members of a family were killed when a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell down at Chatroo area of Kishtwar on Sunday afternoon.
According to police, an Alto Car, bearing registration No JK06-8421, was on its way from Doda to Chingam area of Kishtwar, when reached Gujjar Hostel Chatroo, the driver lost control over the steering while negotiating a curve and vehicle fell 300 feet down.
DDC Kishtwar Ashok Sharma expressed grief over the loss three lives in the accident and said Red Cross Society Volunteers and locals immediately rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.
All were shifted to Sub District Hospital Chatroo, where doctors declared them brought dead.
The deceased have been been identified as Yashodha Devi 40, wife of Sham Lal, son Nitin Kumar 27 (Driver) and daughter Kajal, all residents of Buttggam, Chingam Chatroo. Police has registered a case in this regard.
Meanwhile, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region and Minister of State for Prime Minister’s Office, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space, Dr Jitendra Singh has expressed grief over the loss of 3 precious lives in a road accident at Chatroo – Kishtwar.
He spoke to Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma over phone and enquired about the details of road mishap. He directed the DC to provide all possible assistance to the bereaved family on immediate basis.
It is pertinent to mention here that three members of a family including wife of Sham Lal, his daughter, Kajal Devi and son Nitin Kumar residents of Chingam, Kishtwar lost their lives when the car they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a gorge.
