KATHUA/MENDHAR: Taking stringent action against production of illegal liquor, police on Wednesday nabbed two drug peddlers and recovered 15 ltrs Desi liquor and 22 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession.As per details, a team of Kathua Police Station under supervision of SHO Kathua Vijay Sharma in its jurisdictional area near Chak Drab Khan apprehended a person namely Arjun Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar, resident of Chak Drab Khan Tehsil and District Kathua. During checking, approximately 15 litres of illicit (Desi) liquor was recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and a case vide FIR No 161/2021 under Section 48 (A) of Excise Act was registered against him.Meanwhile, a team of Police Station Mendhar led by SHO Mendhar Insp Manzoor Ahmed Kohli under the supervision of SDPO Mendhar Zaheer Abbass and Army 37 RR laid a Naka at Chaltral area and apprehended two person namely Waseem Ahmed, son of Nasar Ahmed, resident of Chattrai and Mohd Asif, son of Mehmood Ahmed, resident of Chak Banola. During their personal search, 22 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from their possession. A case vide FIR No. 84 72021 under Section 48 (A) of Excise Act was registered against them at Police Station Mendhar.
