Three bootleggers nabbed with 103 bottles of illicit liquor

BISHNAH/Kathua: Police on Tuesday arrested three bootleggers and recovered 103 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession. As per details, a party from Police Station Bishnah headed by Insp Anil Choudhary, SHO Bishnah under supervision of Shabir Khan, SDPO R S Pura and close supervision of SP Hqrs Jammu Raja Adil Hamid laid a surprise Naka at Deoli, Bishnah. During Naka checking, police intercepted a motorcycle (JK02AU-1017) on suspicious grounds and when subjected to frisking, 88 bottles (180ml each) of JK Desi Whisky were recovered from the possession of riders, who were identified as Sulakhan Singh, son of Kulwant Singh, resident of village Makhanpur Tehsil Bishnah and Rameshwar Bahadur, son of Ganesh Bahadur, resident of Nepal, at present staying at Makhanpur. They were arrested and a case vide FIR no. 33/2020 under Section 48 of Excise Act was registered against them at Police Station Bishnah.
Meanwhile, Billawar police also nabbed a bootlegger and recovered 15 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession. The accused was identified as Pritam Lal, son of Channi Lal, resident of Panchayat Pallam, Tehsil Billawar.
