JAMMU: Police has arrested three persons including a woman, as the trio had gone to SDM office and attacked Tehsildar R S Pura.
As per details, Avtar Singh, son of Harbans Singh; Jonny Singh, son of Kirpal Singh and Balwant Kour, wife of Avtar Singh after a land dispute went to the office of SDM R S Pura and threatened staff of dire consequences, if decision was not tilted in their favour. When they were told that the work would be done on merit, Avtar Singh and Jonny Singh attacked Tehsildar R S Pura while Balwant Kour tried to self-immolate herself.
Sensing gravity of the situation SDM R S Pura, Ram Lal Sharma informed SDPO R S Pura Shabir Khan. Acting swiftly, a team led by SHO R S Pura Jai Pal Sharma rushed to the spot and arrested the trio. Subsequently, a FIR No. 226/2020 under Sections 353, 332, 309 & 34 of IPC was registered at Police Station R S Pura. Further investigation is going on in the matter.
