Tawi Trekkers explores local destinations

JAMMU: As a part of its endeavour to explore the possibilities of linking Purmandal, Mohoregarh, Bhupnergarh, Dhergarh, Mansar, Surinsar and Pahair Devta for creating an adventure and heritage cum pilgrim circuit, Tawi Trekkers J&K, one of the biggest trekking clubs in the country, shall organize a day-long trek from Kattal Batal (Nagrota) to Aitham (7kms short of Surinsar) via Pahairh Devta.
The trekkers would enjoy a soft trek for the first three kilometres and then another three kilometres of gentle ascent on a well laid out path amidst the charming pines leading to Aitham village. The trekkers would also visit Surinsar for a round of the beautiful lake.
The group of about 20 trekkers to be led by a senior trekker, Sushil Singh shall also include 76 years old advisor of the club Professor, Lalit Magotra who is also president of Dogri Sanstha, Jammu; Ram Khajuria (71 years), president of the Club, Vivek Chauhan (59 years), Principal of Oriental Academy Senior Secondary School, Jammu; Sanjiv Sharma (48 years), Executive Editor, Sportsline; Vipin Jamwal, Narinde Singh, both senior members; Abhimanyu Sherpa, Joint Secretary of the club; Shivani Charak, Arun Deep Singh, both international sport climbers, Sonam Sidharth, Bhanu Partap Singh, Ashmika Thappa, Adhiraj Singh and Mansi Jamwal.
Pertinent to mention here that the club has already done reconnaissance of her Garh and Mohore Garh area and soon a team shall be deputed to Bhupnergarh for making these areas a winter hub of soft adventure activities like adventure camps/ picnics and short heritage treks.
