Sukhnandan urges for expediting de-silting work



JAMMU: To inspect ongoing renovation and repair works on main D-9 Sub-canal and its distributaries, former Minister and ex-MLA, Choudhary Sukhnandan on Friday conducted an extensive tour of Bishnah area. He inspected entire stretch of Ranbir canal and its distributaries right from Kunjwani to tail-end points.
Expressing dissatisfaction over work progress, former Minister advised Irrigation Department to speed-up pace of works and complete de-silting soon, so that water can be released at the earliest. “Only two days are left for release of water in canal but still a lot of work of de-silting of canals is left,” he added.
While interacting with farming community of different villages viz Bishnah, Bane Chak, Chagda, Miyan Chak, Nandpur, Sedgarh and Chimne Chak, he alleged that people are not satisfied with de-silting work. He urged LG Manoj Sinha to intervene into the matter and direct the concerned department to speed-up de-silting work so that farming community can avail irrigation facility in time. Former minister was accompanied by ex-Sarpanch Shahpur Raghunandan Khajuria, Sarpanch Chak Avtara Surjeet Singh, Member Kisan Board Basant Singh, Vijay Singh of Nandpur and Roop Lal Sharma of Maghal.
