JAMMU: A number of sportspersons of SRO-349 held a massive protest against J&K Sports Council and its ill-policies near Dogra Sports field, Shastri Nagar Jammu on Sunday and sought immediate intervention of LG into the matter.Sportsperson from different disciplines like Taekwondo, Wushu, Softball, Gymnastics, Fencing, power-lifting etc, comprising Arvind Satti, Rajinder Singh, Anchal Sharma, Narinder Sharma, Sachin Jamwal, Padam Dev Jamwal, Ravya, Abhishek Jamwal, Rohit Sharma, Nischint and Abhi were present during the protest.Speaking on the occasion, the protesters said that SRO-349 is their legal right but it is really sad that sportspersons are suffering from last 7 years, as sports council has no sports policy. PM Modi is working hard and initiated various steps for development of sports but sports council never entertain PM’s policies, they alleged.The aggrieved sportsperson urged Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene into the matter, which is presently sub-judice, and issued necessary instructions to concerned authorities for resolving the same, failing which they would be forced to intensify their agitation and would go on hunger strike till death.“We have spent our entire lives into respective sports fields and have brought medals for State as well as Nation but now we are begging for SRO-349. If we remain unemployed, how could we motive our trainees,” they questioned.
