Jammu: Jammu Police continued its massive drive against COVID-19 guidelines violations, during which approximately 300+ persons were fined for not wearing face masks on 24-25 March, 2021. Fine amounting to Rs 1,45,100 was recovered from the violators. Jammu Police has put in great efforts to strictly implement orders of administration regarding COVID-19 measures.Jammu Police further appealed to all citizens to follow proper guidelines, maintain social distancing, wear proper masks and avoid crowded places by making announcements at busy market places, chowks etc. It was also warned that those found violating COVID-19 guidelines in the district will be strictly dealt under law.Meanwhile, a special drive was launched in sub division Akhnoor under supervision of SP Rural Sanjay Sharma against violations of COVID-19 guidelines besides spreading awareness among general public.People roaming around without masks in public areas were Challaned by the police team. 71 persons were challaned and a fine amounting to Rs 35,750 was recovered. SHO Akhnoor Insp Ravi Parihar, SHO Khour Balwinder Singh, SHO Gharota Khayati Maan Khajuria besides Incharge Police Posts participated in the drive and urged people to strictly follow COVID-19 guidelines for their own safety.
