SKPA holds course on women safety for investigators


UDHAMPUR: Organised by Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur, a five-day course on “Safety of Women” for investigators of Jammu & Kashmir Police concluded. Sixteen (16) officers of the rank of ASI to Inspector underwent the training programme. The course was designed to built the capacity of the investigators in the investigation of crime against women in professional and scientific manner and acquaint them with the basic concept of safety issues of women vis-a-vis the social and cultural context. There were wide ranging deliberations on women safety issues, protection of women from domestic violence, investigation of cases, victim counselling, NHRC guidelines, online crime and abuse on social networking sites etc.
To achieve the objectives of the training programme, experienced guest speakers including Dr. Kavita Suri, Director and Head Deptt. of lifelong learning, Dr.Kamaldeep Kour, Asstt. Professor English, GDC Gandhi Nagar Jammu, S.S Parihar, Dy.SP (Retd.), Ram Singh, Dy.SP Crime branch Jammu, Priyanka Kumari, Dy.SP (SOG Jammu) and Jagpal Sharma, Inspr. SCRB Jammu delivered lectures and shared their experience on the related subjects.
Mohan Lal, Asstt Director (Outdoor & Indoor) SKPA Udhampur concluded the training programme by emphasizing on the objectives of the course and its implementations. The valediction was attended by Sh. Suraj Singh, Dy.SP (R&D/Administration) and Sukhvir Singh, Inspector (Course Secretary).
