Sikh organisations highlight demands



JAMMU: An emergency meeting of various Sikh Organisations was held under the chairmanship of Mohinder Singh, Chief Organiser Bhai Kanayia Nishkam Sewa Society on Tuesday, in which various issues related to Sikh community were discussed. A unanimous resolution was adopted on the occasion in which an appeal was made to Prime Minister Narender Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and LG Manoj Sinha for acceding to their demands. Eminent demands of the organisations included appointment of a Sikh as Advisor to Lieutenant Governor and member of PSC in Jammu & Kashmir UT, giving official language status to Punjabi, as promised by LG in presence of huge gathering of Sikh Sangat at Gurdwara Guru Nanak Dev, Chand Nagar Jammu on 20th January 2021 and providing balance amount of Rs 24.50 lakh to refugees of 1947.

Paramjit Singh Raina Ex Corporator, Kulwant Singh Khajuria Joint Secretary Shiromani Akali Dal, Surinder Singh Kala,Surjeet Singh Kukoo President Sikh Naujawan Sabha, Harpreet Singh Chhotu President Youth Akali Dal, Kuldeep Kour President Istri Akali Dal, Gurmeet Kour General Secretary Istri Akali Dal, Harpeet Singh Lucky President Sikh Student Federation, Manmohan Singh,Rasbir Singh, Kuldeep Singh Malik, Kulwant Singh, Kultar Singh and Tejpal Singh.
