Shiv Sena signature campaign kicks off



JAMMU: Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday launched a signature campaign to press for the demands of restoration of Statehood to the Union Territory, and keeping the jobs exclusive to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
On the directions of Manish Sahni, president of Shiv Sena’s Jammu and Kashmir unit, the signature campaign was launched today in Bari Brahmana area of Samba district where more than 2000 people participated and expressed solidarity with the campaign.
Giving details, President of Shiv Sena Women Wing Minakshi Chhibber said that there has been a lot of enthusiasm among the youth towards this campaign.
“On the day one of the campaign, more than two thousand people of all ages came out in this biting cold and put their signatures in the support of the campaign. This shows how, irrespective of their political beliefs, religious and regional lines, people are supportive of the demands put up by Shiv Sena. The people want the centre to restore the Statehood for Jammu and Kashmir, which is the crown of India,” she said.
The jobs in Jammu and Kashmir must also remain reserved for the sons and daughters of the soil, she added.
Chibber informed that Shiv Sena has fixed a target of 10 lakh signatures in the union territory.
“We will achieve our target of 10 lakh signatures in a short while. After the completion of the campaign, a representation will be sent to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to further assert our genuine demands for Jammu and Kashmir and its people,” she added.
Shiv Sena General Secretary Vikas Bakshi and Secretary Raj Singh and Pawan Singh were also present on this occasion.
