JAMMU: Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit urged for providing free of cost Covid-19 vaccine to the residents of the union territory, in view of the hardships faced by them in past couple of years. While addressing media persons at party office today ,Welcome the Central government’s decision of free vaccine on the Ist face to all front line health workers across the country, Shiv Sena president for Jammu and Kashmir, Manish Sahni appealed to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lt Governor of J&K to extend the free vaccine to all the people of Jammu and Kashmir.Sahni said that the people of J&K have been living under the threats of terrorism for more than three decades. “Being largely dependent on tourism, Jammu and Kashmir’s economy received a major setback with the period after Article 370 abrogation, which was followed by Covid-19 pandemic. Even on GDP, we stand at the bottom line compared to other states.As per an estimate by one of the leading trade body, Jammu and Kashmir’s economy has suffered losses upto Rs 15,000 crore after August 2019. In such circumstances, people may not be able to afford the vaccine,Sahni urged the Central government to announce free vaccine for all residents of Jammu. On this occasion Gen Secretary Vikas Bakshi, Geet Lahkotra and Dimple were present.
