Jammu: Shikhsha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar, on Tuesday celebrated the festival of Lohri and Makar Sankrati, in its premises with gaiety.Principal, Rameshwar Mengi, Director SNS, Rakshasn Mengi, Director Pushp Vatika, Rashik Mengi and other guests invited from sister concern of Shiksha Niketan were present on the occasion.The programme began with lighting of the traditional lamp by the guests, principal and Incharges.A group dance presented by the teachers immersed in the rich cultural folklore of Punjab.After that the holy bonfire was lit and all presents offered prayers for the prosperity of the nation and well-being of all. Rameshwar Mengi threw light on the importance of the day.
