Shastri calls on Secretary SED, discusses present scenario of Sanskrit in J&K


JAMMU: President, Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avem Vedic Sansthan (SKJAVS) Trust, Rohit Shastri called on Secretary, J&K School Education Department, B K Singh on Thursday and presented a copy Shiv Mahapuran & Shri Kailash Dev Chalisa to the officer. While interacting with Singh, Shastri highlighted various problems being faced by Sanskrit students and scholars in J&K besides discussing present scenario of Sanskrit in J&K.
“State-level Sanskrit award in the name of illustrious Sanskrit scholar Late Dr Uttam Chand Shastri Pathak should be started, as he devoted his entire life for service and promotion of Sanskrit language. The award should be bestowed upon the persons contributing to promotion, propagation and preservation of Sanskrit language in J&K. Moreover, Sanskrit should be made compulsory from Class 1st in all Government and private schools etc,” he suggested.
Pt Vijay Shastri and Pt Deepak Shastri were also present on the occasion.
