JAMMU: JK Public School (JKPS) Kunjwani has taken another initiative to train the trainer or teach the teacher.The school has started a series of capacity building webinars from June 14, 2021 onwards.The programme has been aptly named as “Sharpening the Axe”. The programme, conceived by the school Principal Vandana Sharma, is a novel concept where peer learning and collaborative approach and leadership initiatives are going to be showcased.The school teachers themselves along with a few outside experts are conducting these webinars.The series was inaugurated by a webinar hosted by the Principal Vandana Sharma on the topic “Blended Learning”.Elaborating upon the concept of blended learning, she enumerated several examples from her own teaching experiences and observations.She also emphasised that change can be difficult, especially for the faculty who has taught using traditional methods for years, but from 2020 blended learning has become a common place in educational institutions.The new mode of learning has provided opportunity to teachers to make a clear roadmap for students which enables the teacher to track progress of her students and provide effective feedback and support required.She also explained the various models of blended learning which teachers can use in their teaching practices and also gave tips to use technology in establishing good rapport with students to bring them closer to innovative and creative new ways of Blended learning experience.The second webinar of the day was about Personality Development; Formal Dressing and Online Presentations by renowned Fashion Designer, Motivational Speaker and Owner & CEO of MG Design School, Maansi Gupta.The speaker, in her address, made very valid points as to what constitutes a personality and how it can be groomed and developed.She also gave her inputs regarding formal dressing and online presentation which is the need of the hour. Both the webinars were attended by the whole staff of JKPS.
