JAMMU: A meeting of the Schools Education Officers Association (SEOA) was held under the leadership of its President, Roop Lal, which was attended by a number of members.During the meeting, the participants condemned the message which is circulating on social media that senior lecturer wants to be inducted as ZEOs. “If this message is official then, we, the School Education Officers Association warn the Government & bureaucracy not to do so. If it is unofficial, then the person who is circulating the message should be punished for creating confusion & panic among education officers. After serving for 8 to 10 years as Headmasters, officials are promoted as ZEOs. If they are not confirmed or regularized, it’s not their fault but its fault of department,” they added. The participants further said that Zonal Education Officers have much more role & responsibility as compared to Principals because Zonal Education Officers come across various types of situations. Zonal Education Officers are being given a minimum percentage of chance for their next promotion as Principal where it should have been 50:50 as per nature of job in both of cadres. Zonal Education Officers are looking into much more responsibilities as teaching & even ahead of teaching. So, the Headmasters & Zonal Education Officers Association condemn the mischief aimed to mislead the department & darkening future of Headmasters cum ZEOs,” they asserted. The participants urged the Principal Secretary Education Department, B K Singh to issue necessary instructions for enhancing pace of regularisation process of Headmasters & ZEOs, which is being delayed since long for one or another reason. Prominent among those who attended the meeting included Subash Sharma, Mohan Singh, Subash Chander, Rakesh Chander, Charanjit Singh, Surinder Kumar, Rita Angral, Kiran Mangotra, Rajinder Kumar, Puran Chand, Thaker Chand and Baboo Ram.
