JAMMU: Vijay Saraf has resigned from the post of Officiating Secretary, Amar Singh Club, Jammu on Tuesday. In his resignation letter, addressed to Vice President, Amar Singh Club (Divisional Commissioner Jammu), Vijay Saraf said that all that, which happened during full day of polling as well counting process on March 28-29, 2021 has hurt him a lot, forcing him to submit resignation from the post. He further said, “I always felt that all members are well-educated and are from dignified society and would never do anything unethical or against club regulations and rules but some contestants and their supporters disturbed election counting process and used abusive and offensive language against the Election Committee.”
The resignation letter reads, “Your goodself is already aware that after the expiry of term of present Executive Committee, as per constitution of our Club I was taking care of affairs of club particularly to conduct AGM and elections to Executive Committee 2021-2023 as Officiating Secretary. I was associated with the club as Secretary for last two consecutive terms, and has done a lot towards development of this club with full dedication and efforts. I being emotionally attached with this club, was hurt with all that which happened during full day polling as well counting process on March 28-29 and had never expected that there could be any swindle during Vote Counting by the deputed people, who were from members of our club.”
“I must admit herein that Vinod Sharma, the Returning officer nominated by the Court of Law has a long experience of clubs, having been remained Secretary of both clubs Jammu Club & Amar Singh Club, was fair enough and had made all efforts to conduct all election process of our club ethically as per the constitution but some contestants and their supporters disturbed election counting process and used abusive and offensive language against the Election Committee. Owing to the above mentioned circumstances, it will be very difficult for me to continue as Officiating Secretary of the Club and therefore I submit my resignation,” it reads.
