Srinagar: A Sambhar was found dead near Maggar Khad adjoining Jammu-Pathankot National Highway in Kathua on Sunday morning. Later it was taken away in a Wildlife Rescue Van. “I got a call in morning at around 8:30 AM about death of a wild animal. When I rushed to spot, I found it to be a Sambhar. I guess it got separated from group and reached the highway, while searching mates. It must have been hit by a vehicle, as there are small glass pieces lying on road,” said an official. He further added that Sambhar would be taken for a post-mortem and then buried.
