Saini, Khajuria’s big fifties overwhelm Puri’s ton as SKCA Green wins



JAMMU: Big half-centuries by Shubham Khajuria (95) and Kanav Saini (97) overshadowed magnificent century (116) by Abhinav Puri as Shubham Khajuria Cricket Academy (SKCA) Green defeated SKCA Red by 4 wickets in a high scoring One-Day match as part of series of practice matches at Mandal Cricket ground, near here today.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, SKCA Red rode on a brilliant century by Abhinav Puri to score a big total of 324 runs in 47.2 overs. Skipper Puri scored power-packed 116 runs off just 70 balls, studded with 11 fours and 9 sixes, while Gokul and Abhishant Bakshi contributed 50 and 40 runs to the total respectively. For SKCA Green Shantanu Gupta took 4 wickets, while Tegvansh and Vishal took 2 wickets each.
In reply, SKCA Green sailed on splendid half-centuries by Shubham Khajuria and Kanav Saini and chased the target by losing 6 wickets to win the match by 4 wickets. Kanav scored 97 off 60 balls, while Shubham contributed unbeaten 95 runs off 66 balls. Pranveer and Prayrit contributed 25 runs each to the winning total. For SKCA Green, Govind Sharma and Praful Dhar took 2 wickets each.
It is pertinent to mention here that this was the second match of a series of practice matches being organised by Shubham Khajuria Cricket Academy to provide match practice to its trainees and fine-tune their cricketing skill.
