STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: Sain Samaj Sabha Jammu President Rajinder Sikka urged the Government of J&K UT for early action on the genuine demands of Barber community engaged in the business of Barber shops and beauty salons.He appealed Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to sanction permission for opening of Barber shop/salons also as almost all other shops has been permitted to open by the administration.“Barber shops may also be permitted to open for three days a week as per time table framed by the authorities for other shops , services and business units,” he said.People engaged in the profession of Barber shops/beauty salons are from poor financial backgrounds, he said adding that long lockdowns, curfews and closures of their shops will compel into a condition of starvation. There is frustration and mental depression among these people for their survival and future of their children, he added. “If Government thinks that Barber shops can become the reason and cause of multiples of COVID-19 cases then it should come with some financial package plan for their rehabilitation so that lives and honour of these law obeying and poor citizens may be saved,” he said.
