RAMBAN: Continuing the enforcement drive to implement COVID protocol across the district Ramban, the Enforcement teams on Thursday fined scores of violators for roaming without wearing face masks and not maintaining physical distance. The enforcement teams, during the inspection in their respective jurisdictions, recovered a fine of Rs 25,400 taking the total amount fined since April 1, 2021 to Rs. 36,34,700. The Enforcement officers urged the people to wear face masks and maintain physical distance besides taking COVID vaccination doses at their nearest CVC. District Immunization Officer, Ramban, Dr Suresh informed that as many as 1,878 persons were administered first and second COVID vaccine doses across Ramban district today. As per daily bulletin issued by Chief Medical Officer, Ramban, Dr Mohammad Fareed Bhat, the Health Department has collected 1,440 samples including 326 RT-PCR and 1,114 RAT samples besides administering COVID vaccine to 1878 persons at dedicated Vaccination Centres in the district. Meanwhile, Samba Police in a joint drive with District Civil administration booked 87 persons across the District Samba and imposed a fine amounting to Rs 43,500 on them. In order to enforce COVID SoPs and to ensure that people follow COVID Appropriate Behavior (CAB), various joint teams of Samba Police & District Civil Administration booked 87 persons for not wearing face-masks, not following social distancing norms and for spitting in public places. Samba Police appealed to citizens of Samba District to always wear a face mask, avoid unnecessary travel to crowded places, be strict to allowed social gatherings and always follow COVID Appropriate Behavior, as these are key preventive measures to curb the spread of COVID-19. People have been advised to maintain social distancing & personal hygiene.
