JAMMU: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) on World Human Rights Day, which is being observed throughout world, reminded whole world and international bodies as well as government about victim Kashmiri Pandit community, which was driven out of their homes nearly three decades ago by foreign terrorists, dreaded Muslim fundamentalists. He appealed to national and international bodies as well as Govt of India not to shut their eyes towards ethnic cleansing and persecution of Kashmiri Pandit community and get their human rights restored at the earliest. In a press statement issued here, KPC President Kundan Kashmiri said that human rights are certain inherent rights which are available to all humans irrespective of caste, color, creed, religion, simply because they are born as human beings. These rights are necessary for peaceful existence of humanity and are the right to liberty, equality and dignity of an individual which are ensured by the constitution, but despite fact there is large scale of violations of these rights in particular to our victim KP community, he added.
He said that it is an appropriate time to pay heed towards persecuted KP community. Central Govt and UT administration should identify, acknowledge and provide much needed succor to KPs besides clamping down heavily on such elements, that were responsible for their plight, he added.
