Dear Editor,We, the residents and commuters are facing a tough time due to unrepaired 30 Km road stretch from Pul Doda to Bhadarwah on Bhadarwah-Pathankot national highway.Due to the pathetic attitude of BRO (114 RCC), which has been assigned for the construction and maintenance of the road, it has become extremely difficult to commute on this strategically important road stretch as the road is not only full of potholes but has sunken at more than half a dozen places. We are unable to understand that despite being a strategically important highway which connects Jammu and Kashmir with Punjab via Basohli and Pathankot, why BRO is shying away to perform even basic maintenance like that of numerous pot-holes and sunken portions thereby leaving the commuters to face the hardships and sometime back injuries. It is also pertinent to mention here that despite numerous representations to BRO authorities and District administration, the road has been left unrepaired since last 5 years, which is not only affecting the local commuters but also tourism industry as visitors didn’t like to revisit the valley because of the deplorable condition of the road.Since, tourist season has began and a number of tourists love to visit this place; it is once againrequested to the concerned authorities to pay attention towards it and get the same repaired as soon as possible.Yusaf Butt,Bhadarwah.
