Rehabilitate KPs as per their wishes, aspirations: KPC

JAMMU: No rehabilitation plan for displaced Kashmir Pandits is acceptable which will be against their wishes and aspirations. It was stated by Kundan Kashmiri, President Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) while addressing a meeting of members on Tuesday in New Delhi. Kundan reiterated that return of lakhs of displaced KPs will be possible only if it is inspiring, broadly-prepared with advance planning and preparations and consent from displaced people and its leadership, for whom it is meant, will be taken before giving final shape to plan.
“Displaced KPs, in majority, have already conveyed and consented that they would neither return to clusters nor previous locations where 80-85 per cent of Kashmiri Pandit houses have all been sold-off under distress sale or have been forcibly occupied. Moreover, as 85-90 per cent of agriculture and other land has been sold under distress sale, forcibly occupied or encroached in villages and towns,” he added
KPC, once again, urged central Government and Lt Governor J&K to have a transparent return policy for displaced KPs and settle them as their wishes and aspirations, at one place at land of Kashyap, and under union territory system of governance and have an urgent dialogue with them in this regard.
