Recalling retired doctors for fighting corona can act as game-changer: Neelam


RAMBAN: BJP’s former MLA from Ramban Neelam Langeh on Monday said that the government’s decision to reappoint retired doctors and other medicos for taking assistance in fight against coronavirus will prove out to be game changer as it will fortify healthcare edifice against the deadly infection.
In a handout issued here, the BJP leader lauded the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for taking such an innovative step to corner the disease which has wreaked havoc in J&K and elsewhere in the country. He also applauded the LG for his initiative to rope in final year MBBS students to intensify the war against the COVID-19 disease. He said that the swiftness which J&K administration has shown in dealing with the emergent situation arising out of second wave of coronavirus is the testimony to the fact that J&K is in safe hands and the government will leave no stone unturned to protect residents of the UT from the cruel hands of COVID-19. The senior BJP leader said that akin to taking assistance of final year MBBS students of the UT the government can also ponder to take the services of pass out nursing students to take care of corona patients. He said that the way the government has acted on providing adequate oxygen to the corona patients it really deserves kudos for saving so many lives.
The former MLA urged the government to carry on with the good work to stop the transmission of coronavirus by breaking the chain of disease. He also hailed the government for initiating house to house virus mopping exercise, which according to him will help in encouraging people with corona symptoms to visit dedicated hospitals thus eliminating the chances of spreading the disease in the society.
He said that the most important aspect in fight against COVID-19 is to follow the guidelines issued from time to time and adapt to COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.
