JAMMU: Arrested after four days from the day of rape, the family members of the accused are making hard efforts to force the victim and her family to withdraw complaint.The accused Ajay Kumar, son of Som Nath, resident of Trikuta Nagar managed to flee soon when rape victim lodged the complaint with the police. After conducting searches at suspected places, the police team led by Inspect0r Deepak Pathania arrested the accused from the house of a relative.On December 9, the accused Ajay Kumar entered into the girl’s house built on the plot of his father Som Nath and raped her. The girl’s family same day lodged a complaint with Trikuta Nagar Police and narrated the entire episode.After conducting medical examination of victim, police registered an FIR and launched manhunt to nab the accused, who went underground soon after when the victim lodged complaint with the Trikuta Nagar police.After hectic efforts, the rape accused has been arrested. However, the family members of Ajay Kumar are making hard efforts to lure the victim and her family members so that she withdraws her complaint.“Let them do what they want to do,” police said, adding “this is a proved case of rape and the accused will get maximum punishment.”:The family members of rape victim in a written statement to Trikuta Nagar police have sought strict punishment for Ajay Kumar, who has outraged the modesty of their young daughter who was alone at home at that time when he barged into their house and forcefully raped her. Locals of the area have also appreciated the efforts of Trikuta Nagar police to nab the culprit who had managed to flee after committing crime.
