Rajouri Admn steps-up efforts to avert imminent threat of Omicron

RAJOURI: In the wake of possible threat of new variant of COVID19 omicron, the District Administration Rajouri has stepped up its COVID containment measures. Special joint surveillance and covid check post surveillance teams have been constituted to strictly enforce the COVID appropriate behavior in the district. The joint surveillance teams shall keep vigil on new arrivals both National and International travelers and shall immediately report the concerned Tehsildar, BMO and Covid surveillance control room for their testing for COVID19. A penalty of Rs 200 for the first and Rs 500 for the second offense in respect of wearing of mask, Rs 500 for spitting at public places, Rs 500 for violating social distancing, Rs 2000 for social and religious gathering norms and 500 for commercial vehicles violating social distancing norms of passengers shall be levied from the violators. The teams shall strictly ensure that there is a full compliance of the COVID appropriate behavior and defaulters are firmly dealt with under relevant sections of the Disaster Management Act besides the teams shall also educate the public about the need to follow the COVID related protocols to remain safe from the viral infection. It is pertinent to mention here that DC Rajouri, Vikas Kundal has already directed the concerned stakeholders for close monitoring of the travelers, revival of panchayat level corona care centers, vaccination of all eligible persons by 20th of January 2022 besides all appropriate measures are being taken avert the imminent threat of omicron in the district.
