JAMMU: Hundreds of people on Saturday gathered to register themselves for ‘Golden Card’ to avail the benefits under SEHAT health Insurance Scheme of the J&K government, through which people can avail medical facilities up to Rs 5 lakh, free of cost.The ‘Golden Card’ containing all required information of the patient is required while availing the treatment facilities at the empanelled hospital. In this regard, a camp was organised by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Rajni Rohmetra to facilitate the registration for ‘Golden Card’ at Ward No 53, Trikuta Nagar, here. Besides Sahil Koul, State BJP Executive Member and Jammu District Prabhari of Social Media & IT Department and Krishan Khajuria Kidmat Center Owner, around 100 people, majority belonging to labourer class, attended the camp.Speaking on the occasion, Rajni Rohmetra said, “The flagship scheme which stands for social upliftment, endeavour for health and telemedicine provides a health-cover of Rs 5 lakh per family per year.” She added, “It allows portability of benefits across the country has no cap on family size and involves free & cashless treatment in empanelled hospitals located across the country. Any citizen can apply for the scheme which is linked to more than 23,000 public and private hospitals across India apart from those in J&K.” Elaborating the provisions and benefits of scheme, she inspired people to get registered under the Scheme. People who came for the registration extended their gratitude to Rajni Rohmitra for organising the camp. “It is a very good scheme. Treatment costs in private hospitals have gone up. Prime Minister has dedicated this scheme to people which will provide health care coverage plan to poor. It will help us in coming days,” one of the person, who came to the camp for registration, said.
