KATRA: Wrestler Fareed of Dinanagar in Punjab lifted 7th annual Pabber Dangal title by defeating Wrestler Nisar of J&K Police, resident of Doda organized at village Pabber in Reasi District.Fareed was adjudged as the best Wrestler of the Dangal which was organized by Pabber Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association . The title winner wrestler Fareed was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 21,000 while runner-up wrestler Nisar got the prize of Rs. 12.000.President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and Vice President Indian Style wrestling Association of India, Shiv Kumar Sharma was the chief guest, whereas Tehsildar Reasi Munshi Ram and Inspector Pardeep Singh were the guests of honour. Naib Tehsildar Baldev Raj was also present in the Dangal.About 53 bouts were played during the Dangal which was organized under the supervision of organizing Committee including Pandit Som Dutt, Sarpanch Bodh Raj Sharma, Baldev Raj, Ashok Kumar, Mohd. Sadiqu, Sudesh Sharma, Ram Krishan, Yash Paul, Surinder Verma, Shashi Sharma, Mohan Sharma, Jatinder Singh, (Sonu) Som Raj Verma, Sanjay Kumar, Gopal Dass, Baldev Sharma, Chuni Lal, Gulam Nabi, Gul Mohd and Liquit Ali.The 2nd main bout was fought between Surjeet Singh of Reasi and Rajesh Sharma of J&K Police. Another 2nd malli bout was fought between Rashid of Domana Akhara Jammu and Nadeem of Doda both the bouts were ended in a draw and all the four wrestlers awarded with cash prize of Rs. 4,000.Other Results: Chand Fouji of Narkote, Reasi beat Billu of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu, Ankush of Udhampur beat Prittam Singh of Danda Baghan, Sunil of Kot Bhalwal Jammu beat Aslam of Kathua, Tirthu of Manwal beat Shoota Benia of Udhampur, Subash of Narkote beat Panku of J&K Police and Suresh of Pathankot beat Ali of Kathua, Gopal Sharma of Jindrah beat Man Hussain of Jammu and Sahil of Kathua beat Arif of J&K Police.The proceedings of the Dangal were conducted by Mohd Fareed and Sanjay Kumar, whereas bouts of Dangal were officiated by Gul Mohd and Tulinder Kumar. An Expenditure of Rs. 1,54,000/- has been incurred for the conduct of this Dangal. Around 104 Wrestler from J&K, Himachal Pardesh and Punjab participated in the Dangal.Shiv Kumar Sharma thanked the police Department, Media persons, Wrestlers and people who witnessed the Dangal. He also appreciated the bouts played and organizers, technical officials. He assured that our association will give every possible help for the development and promotion of the game of wrestling in the J&K UT.
