JAMMU: Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Cricket Club won the inaugural match of the Shaheed Lt Thakur Dass Memorial Cricket Tournament being organised by Akhnoor Sports Club under the overall supervision S. S. Langeh, General Secretary District Jammu JKCA at Government Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, on Sunday.Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Club beat Hills Views Rajouri by six wickets.Batting first after winning the toss, Hills Views Club scored 152 for the loss of nine in 20 overs. Manjeet Singh was the top scorer with 40 runs followed by Sidharth and Shashi, who contributed 24 and 28 runs respectivly.For Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Club, Nakul and Harmaan grabbed three wickets each while Jatinder claimed two and Kanehiya got one wicket.in reply, Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Club chased the target making 157 for the loss of four wickets in 17.1 overs, courtesy brilliant 77-run knock by Arya Thakur. Kanehiya made 20 and Harish remained not out at 28 runs.For his match winning inning, Arya Thakur was declared *Man of the Match.Today’s match was officiated by Dayal Singh and Vikas Bali as umpires and Rohit and Arjun as scorers.Earlier, the tournament was declared open by the Chief Guest, Rajeev Sharma, ex-MLA Akhnoor in the presence of with Guest of Honour, D.K. Kapoor, President Akhnoor Sports Club.Other presents were Sunita Sharma (Vice Principal GHSS Akhnoor), Surinder Khajuria (Secretary Akhnoor Sports Club), Vishnu Kant Sharma (Chairman of the Tournament), Surinder Sharma (President Municipal Committee Akhnoor), Karan Singh (Councilor), Dr Romesh Kashyap, Krishan Kumar, Nav Ratan, Deepak Mani, Dalbir Singh, D. N. Abrol, Dr. Gafur, Kuldeep Kour, Raman Gupta, Suresh Gupta, Deepak Sharma and Sonu Malhotra.
