JAMMU: According to existing orders of Administration, the house owners are required to provide particulars of their tenants to local police station/ police post but same were not observed in majority of cases. Sources said that lakhs of tenants are living in Jammu whereas not more than five thousand have been brought into the notice of police.According to latest instructions, the house owner has been made responsible to give particulars of his tenants to Police failing which he will face action under rules. Instructions have been issued to all police stations to find out all unreported tenants in their area of responsibility besides carrying out their registration.
